Volunteering is essential for the Hartford Wrestling Club to succeed.  We ask that all families of club members volunteer a minimum of 5 hours per season.  If you have more than one wrestler in the club, your volunteer requirement is still 5 hours.  Once your volunteer hours have been met, you can request that your volunteer fee ($100) be refunded or you can roll the fee over to the next wrestling season.  We do not want your fee, we want/need your volunteer hours.

The following are your volunteering options…                    

  • TOURNAMENT
    Our annual tournament gives the most opportunities for families to fulfill your 5 hours and is the most in-demand for the HWC.  Many opportunities… including setup and takedown, concessions, morning check-in, distributing awards, first aid station, data entry, etc.
     

  • REGISTRATION NIGHT (completed)
    Volunteers are needed to assist our Registration Director on the night of registration.
     

  • T-SHIRT DISTRIBUTION
    Volunteers are needed to hand out t-shirts to all club members.  Usually before and after practices over the course of a few practices.
     

  • SINGLET DISTRIBUTION AND RETURN
    Volunteers are needed to hand out singlets at the beginning of the season.  Usually before and after practices over the course of a few practices.  Same thing on returning the singlets at the end of the season.
     

  • SALT SALE DELIVERIES
    Volunteers are needed to deliver.  Usually on a Saturday morning until 12 pm.  Great exercise!  Also, families can fulfill their volunteer hours by selling salt as well.  Sell 100 bags and your 5 hours are fulfilled.
     

  • BANQUET SET UP AND TAKE DOWN
    Volunteers are needed for setting up, taking down.  Soliciting door prizes for the kids.  Organizing food and beverage needs.
     

  • BRAT FRY
    Volunteers are needed for the general duties needed to run a brat fry.  Our brat fry takes place in May.
